ThinkPad X1 Fold Gen 2 is bigger, better, and more powerful
Lenovo’s ThinkPad X1 Fold series is the first foldable computer model. The company launched the first generation of this laptop in late 2020. Then, other companies like Microsoft announced their foldable computers. The new Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Fold 2nd Gen could be a game-changer with its Intel 12th-gen processor. Let’s check the other specs of the foldable laptop.
Lenovo used the Intel 12th-gen U9 processors on the new foldable computers. The company has not confirmed SKUs. However, it is expected to use the Core i7-1250U and Core i7-1260U on the laptops. These processors have 10-core chips with two P-cores, eight E-cores, and a total of 12 threads. Lenovo also used the Iris Xe graphics which have 96 execution units, and it’s clocked at 950MHz. These graphics will give more power to the ThinkPad X1 Fold 2nd Gen.
On the display side, the company used an OLED, 16.3-inch screen. The new foldable computer has a 4:3, and 2,560 x 2,024 resolution rates. When you fold the screen into a clamshell orientation, you get a 12-inch 3:2 screen. The foldable computer lets you use it in more modes like horizontally, and vertically.
Additionally, Lenovo used a real keyboard on the foldable computer now. The keyboard is full-size, and the keys are a proper 1.35mm. The device comes with a standard 48-watt hour battery, which could be enough for daily use. Lenovo will ship the ThinkPad X1 Fold 2nd Gen in November 2022 according to the claims. The price of new Lenovo computer models starts at $2,500.
